Millions of unbiased reviews posted to TripAdvisor by vacationing families were tabulated to determine the 2011 Travelers’ Choice Family Award winners. The sun-drenched, sugar-sand beaches that line Florida’s scenic Gulf Coast put Destin, Florida and Panama City, Florida in the running for favorite family vacation spots. But it was the Gulf Coast’s exciting variety of family-pleasing activities and wealth of affordable vacation rentals that earned these two vacation playgrounds inclusion on the list of America’s most family-friendly vacation destinations. Located in the heart of Florida’s famed Emerald Coast, Destin was also recognized as one of the Top 10 award-winning Great U.S. Destinations to Discover. Panama City earned rave reviews as an award-winning amusement park destination.
